I'm not sure you'd want to live vicariously through me, Miss. I don't exactly get out all that often but when I do I like a few pints at a good pub and a long walk home under the stars.

I'm the legal guardian of a young man and it wouldn't do for him to see me in such a state.

That IS less scandalous than a wife waiting at home for you. Would it truly be so bad for him to see you that way?

Considering that he's also my boss? Yes.

Were you in service to his parents?

I was yes, but they were murdered a few years ago and I was named his legal guardian.

Sixteen.

Sixteen! Practically a man. Are you sure he's not sneaking out and getting into a state on his own?

Oh I know he is, or was for a little while, but thank god he's smartened up.

And did you do the same at that age?

Course I did, but it's a bit of a different situation.

He's the son of a billionaire and thus his private life is always something that newspapers want to know about, so yes.
Quite a bit of a different situation than mine where I grew up in east London and was a nobody.

Hmmm yet I suspect 'do as I say not as I do' is still not as effective as you'd hope, though I'd bet you're not terribly open about your sordid past~

That's where you're wrong, Miss. I'm very open about my past with Master Bruce, how else would he know that I'm not just talking out of my ass?
